For more than 40 years, Alma Petroli has been operating
in the heavy oil refining sector.
During these years the refinery has specialized
in the production of high range bitumen for industrial
and road (tarmac) use.
The share capital amounts to 10,4 millions Euro
and the company employs about 60,among managers,
executives and specialized workers.
Lately, Alma Petroli's policy, has focused on steadily
updating its plants to state-of-the-art standarts,
thus achieving to consolidate its presence domestically
and gain access to various foreign markets, to the
extent that Alma Petroli can be deemed the italian
leader company in manifacturing/commercializing
of some specific products, like oxidized bitumen,
The
Alma Petroli's refinery plants lie on the left bank
of Ravenna's Candiano Canal, the port of the town,
and benefit of direct access to the sea.
The refinery plants are able to transport unrefined
oil, raw materials and finished products via sea.
The Refinery, specifically devised and built in
1957 for production of high quality bitumen, is
equipped with a distillation plant capable of producing
400.000 tons. annually.
It consists of a preflash column, a vacuum column,
two process furnaces, heat exchanges, pumps, etc.
Refiney processes foreign crude oil (typically Venezuelan)
and national ones as well as other heavy feedstock
suited for bitumen production..
Production staff is provided with adeguate training
and expertise to monitor from the control room any
different production phases via a modern DCS unit.
The bitumen produced meets the strictest European
requirements.
The present storage capacity is approximately 87.000
cubic meters, besides, the company has recently
made significant investments towards the construction
of a series of new tanks, two of which are of considerable
volume;
these tanks will allow to attain a total capacity
of 132.000 cubic meters by the year 2001.
Tanks area presently guarantees even now an excellent
flexibility in the storage of raw materials and
finished products assuring standing availability
of many different qualities of bitumen.
The Oxidation plant produces oxidized bitumen, following
clients' specifications, via three columns of oxidation
with a production of 100.000 tons per year.
A state of the art facility, operating 24 hours
a day in order to guarantee our clients a premium
and timely service.
Highly qualified staff monitors every production
phases, dealing with products setup and, assuring,
in contact with analysis laboratories, exact delivery
according to costumers' specific needs..
