Today, 2 September, Alma Petroli inaugurated a new unit for the production of modified bitumen.

Modified bitumen is a durable, high-performance road paving product whose benefits include reduced noise emissions and fuel consumption. Alma Petroli also registered the best product in its product range, ALMA FASTDRAINING, with which it will serve the Italian and international markets.

The quality of Alma Petroli bitumen, years of research, and an investment of approximately six million euros form the foundation of the project, which can be summed up with some impressive figures: 30 tonnes per hour of production capacity, three 90 m³ tanks for the different grades of finished product required by the market, and a subsequent planned expansion with three more 90 m³ tanks.

The equipment installed was selected from among the products and technologies of the best suppliers available on the market.

The company can count on existing basic bitumen storage capacity in order to optimise the various production operations across the entire range of bitumen, a completely automated plant, and a team of skilled employees, both in the field and in the laboratory, who are fully dedicated to the production and quality control of modified bitumen.

Antonio Serena Monghini, President of Alma Petroli, stated that this investment confirms the commitment of the company’s shareholders to invest in the development of the Ravenna facility.

Chief Executive Officer Sergio Bovo emphasised how this investment completes the company’s bitumen portfolio, resulting in a unique range in Europe of a product that is highly sustainable as it is 100% reusable.
