Control, innovation, and ongoing research.
Our in-house laboratory operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It plays an integral role in every stage of production, from process control to final quality assurance, as well as the research and development of new products.
The Alma Petroli laboratory is equipped with advanced instrumentation for the chemical, physical, and rheological analysis of crude oils, distilled products, and bitumens. It is now part of a select network of industrial and academic laboratories in Europe engaged in research, calibration, and the definition of analytical standards.
Over 50% of the analyses performed are dedicated to research and development, confirming our firm commitment to applied innovation.

Our ISO 9001:2015-certified laboratory regularly participates in national and international interlaboratory programs.

Through constant dialogue with industry operators, we have built a broad portfolio of field-tested and validated formulations and technical specifications in the field of industrial and oxidized bitumens.

The elastomer-modified bitumens produced in the new plant – which was entirely designed by Alma Petroli – are marketed under the FASTDRAINING® brand. These bitumens are the result of years of research and in-depth knowledge of bitumens, polymers, and the rheological behavior of modified bitumen. FASTDRAINING® modified bitumen is the ideal material for our roads, both now and in the future, offering an optimal solution for designing and constructing high-performance, durable conglomerates.
